"Richie produces co-existence with and for unlikely characters like you and I. In their hands, art becomes a rigorous social medicine that treats the loneliness of a disconnected and competitive culture. Richie makes confrontational art including street parades, social games, and art adventures-- all which risk actual human connection.
Sometimes Richie takes migrants on a boat trip to meet one another. And other times they cook elaborate meals for people who break into cars. They organize gatherings for artists to find collaborators and lovers, or run a public guerrilla café that offers creative experiences for free. Each project invents it’s own form to treat the social problem at hand. Whatever the adventure, Richie invites isolated and alienated people on an unfamiliar path towards a revolution that involves interdependence, honesty, play, and collective care. Each of these art-shaped experiences invites us to connect. And if we ride along, we might yet become a collective and cooperative species." - Cassie
